Happy October and welcome to my fall family room tour, y’all! I’m thrilled to be joining eleven wonderfully talented home decor bloggers today as we kick off our Finally Fall Home Tours for 2016. Grab your favorite morning drink (may I suggest a pumpkin spice latte?), get comfy + cozy, and prepare to be inspired!
Today, I’m sharing my fall family room. Now that October has officially arrived, I’m welcoming the outside charm of fall into my home with fresh elements of pumpkins, leaves, and wood. I’m partial to white pumpkins, but there’s something about the traditional orange pumpkins that remind me of sweet childhood memories. My kids absolutely adore them and the pop of color is a fun addition to our neutral palette.
Consider yourself warned, this blog post is picture heavy… I couldn’t help myself! I hope you forgive me (insert my smiling face here).
Our Own Little Pumpkin Patch
The changes I made to my family room are quite simple. The only decor I purchased were the pumpkins. I found a treasure trove of mini, orange pumpkins at Walmart. Each package contained five pumpkins and at $2.98 each I didn’t break the bank. I also found three small pumpkins and some leaves at my local grocery store for $3 a piece.
The shelves have been freshly restyled with a few pieces I found during my recent trips to Round Top Antiques week, as well as home decor I already had in different rooms throughout my home. My favorite way to shop is in my home!
Easy as One, Two, Three Fall Centerpiece
The fall centerpiece on the coffee table was super simple and inexpensive to put together. I simply used a metal tray I already had on hand, layered leaves I found at my local grocery store, added a few books for height to elevate the candle holders, a piece of wood from the first home we lived in, a few old springs, and piled on the pumpkins.
Piles of Soft Pillows and Cozy Throws
I adore pillows and throws. The more the merrier in my home! These buffalo check pillows made their way downstairs from my master bedroom. They have a fall feeling that is fresh and simple.
A Welcoming Entryway
