True confession, we’ve lived in our home for almost three years and our master bedroom has never been decorated! It’s the hardest room for me to decorate and it’s always fallen low on the priority list for some reason. That all changed the moment I spotted this rug from RugsUSA. I immediately knew it was “the one” and my boring bedroom streak finally came to an end.
Layered, Relaxed, and Comfortable Retreat
I designed my master bedroom based on this grey striped rug. My vision for the room was quite simple. I was dreaming of a layered, relaxed, and comfortable retreat with a calming mixture of greys, browns, whites, creams, and hints of greens. My husband and I were married on a beach in St. Thomas USVI and I wanted to incorporate a few coastal cottage touches into our room to celebrate that day. Mission accomplished!
I’ve never purchased a rug online. My experience with RugsUSA exceeded all of my expectations. First of all, their selection is truly amazing. It looks exactly like the pictures. I’m already shopping for my next rug based on my experience with them.
I chose the 7’6” x 9’6” size. It’s the perfect size under my king sized bed. It also comes in a runner sized 2’6” x 8’ and a smaller rectangle sized 5’x8”.
In addition to grey, it’s also available in a darling blue stripe that would be perfect in a nautical nursery or beach inspired playroom.
It’s super soft and lays nicely on top of the carpet underneath, which makes it the perfect rug to greet my feet when I hop out of bed. My kids love rolling around on it (and my cats do too!).

Absolutely lovely room! What paint color did you use?
Thank you very much, Melinda! I wish I could tell you the color of the walls… when we moved in they were painted this color and the previous owner doesn’t recall the color. Yes, the plaid cover is a twin size. It wasn’t planned that way but I adore how it came together! I found all of the bedding in the as-is section of Ikea and the plaid cover just happened to be a twin, so I thought I would give it a shot. I love how it turned out. Thank you!
